Home improvement can mean any number of things to any number of people. Everything from changing out an incandescent bulb to an LED, to installing an Olympic size swimming pool can be considered a home improvement. Anything that provides value or makes something about your home better can be considered some form of an upgrade.
Upgrading an existing area of a home is a task that can be very simple or very complex. With the real estate market over the past 5 or 6 years being as it was, there were many foreclosures available for sale, and most of these required some form of upgrade before they were able to be lived in. Some of the more common upgrades that were necessary to these foreclosed homes were, to start, thorough cleaning. Many of these bank-owned properties were owner maintained until they were sold, meaning the banks never set foot in them, and they were sold basically as-is.
